Registration must be completed by parents or auditioners 18 years or older.
Registration is open to 2nd graders through age 20. First graders may register if they will be finished with first grade by June 19, 2020. Please read the info below and then click the Register Now button.
Due to the shelter-in-place order extension for Illinois, auditions will not be able to take place in person on April 27 and 28 as planned. Check back here and make sure you are signed up for our emails, and we will be communicating our plans soon!
Audition & Participation Expectations
Please review the information on the Auditions page to understand our expectations and be prepared.
For Beauty and the Beast, audition slots have been divided according to age/grade level.
If you/your child are in 1st grade through 6th grade, please register for a 6:00, 6:30, or 7:00 audition slot.
If you/your child are in 7th grade through age 20, please register for a 7:30, 8:00, or 8:30 audition slot.
At your audition, please come prepared to read one of these monologues. You can select any of these to read at the audition. Click here to access the audition monologues.
Rehearsals and time commitment
Beauty and the Beast
Monday, May 4: first rehearsal and parent meeting, 6:00 pm
Rehearsals will continue Monday through Thursday evenings basically 6:00-8:30 pm through tech week, at which point rehearsals will run 5:30-9:30pm.
Mandatory attendance dates and times below, so double-check your schedule before signing up:
Tech week: Monday-Thursday, June 15-18
Friday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 21 at 2:00 p.m.
Friday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m.
Committee work: All parents/guardians are required to assist with committee work during the course of a show. Committee selection occurs during the registration process. After the show is cast we will work with committee members to learn and carry out their duties. We appreciate our parent volunteers, and could not do what we do without them!
Cost of participation
Fees: Beauty and the Beast: $260
Payment is due on the day of the first rehearsal. Parents may either pay in full or enroll in a payment plan by the first rehearsal date. After five calendar days, a $25 late fee will be added to the student’s registration. After calendar ten days, parents can no longer register for the show.
Cancellation and refund schedule:
100% refund given if cancellation is communicated 1-6 calendar days after the first rehearsal date. If enrolled in a payment plan, CTE refunds the 25% deposit paid at registration
75% refund given if cancellation is communicated within 7-13 calendar days of the first rehearsal date. If enrolled in a payment plan, CTE keeps the 25% already charged, but does not charge the remaining 75%
50% refund given if cancellation is communicated within 14-20 calendar days of the first rehearsal date. If enrolled in a payment plan, CTE agrees to not charge anything further, but keeps the two 25% installment payments already made.
No refund will be given if cancellation is communicated 21 calendar days or more after the first rehearsal date. If enrolled in a payment plan, parent agrees that the card on file will be charged the full amount at the time of cancellation.
Additional expenses: Cast members will be required to wear jazz shoes during rehearsals. As it gets closer to show time, cast members may also need a basket to hold their costume items and props and their own make-up and hair supplies. Information about other costume needs will be provided after rehearsals have begun.
