For Analisa Montalvo, her journey with the Children’s Theatre of Elgin (CTE) has been a cornerstone in discovering and nurturing her multifaceted passion for the performing arts. From her early involvement in productions like Beauty and the Beast, Analisa not only thrived on stage but also found her calling behind the scenes. Her dedication to choreography and her commitment to organizing summer camps over several years highlight her versatility and leadership within the program. These experiences ignited a deep-seated love for theatre that extended far beyond performing, shaping her into a creative and proactive member of the CTE community.

Following her involvement in Beauty and the Beast, Analisa took on choreography and helped with summer camps for a few years in a row. Building on this foundation, she transitioned into production coordinating, where she played a pivotal role in managing the logistical and creative aspects of various productions. Her talents expanded as she took on responsibilities such as makeup design and serving as the makeup chair, while also volunteering for publicity, cast management, and additional makeup duties. Analisa’s dedication did not stop there; she remains an active member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment within CTE.

Analisa’s time at CTE was marked by unforgettable memories of late-night rehearsals, the excitement of opening nights, and the strong friendships she forged along the way. These experiences not only honed her artistic skills but also developed her ability to work collaboratively and lead with empathy. The supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere at CTE allowed her to grow both personally and professionally, instilling in her the confidence to take on diverse roles and challenges.

Today, Analisa continues to leverage the skills and lessons learned from her time at CTE in her current endeavors. Whether she is coordinating productions, designing makeup, or advocating for diversity and inclusion, the foundation she built through her extensive involvement with CTE remains a guiding force in her career. Reflecting on her journey, Analisa is grateful for the opportunities and friendships that CTE provided, recognizing that the program played a significant role in shaping her into the confident and versatile individual she is today. As she moves forward, Analisa remains committed to giving back to the community that supported her growth, inspiring the next generation of performers and creatives to pursue their passions with the same dedication and heart that she did.
