be BISHOP AWARD

The Be Bishop award was created after we lost our beloved friend and Artistic Director, Mr. Matt Bishop, in February of 2024. Matt’s generous spirit, compassion, unmatched dedication, and passion for teaching, his students, and music impacted all who had the pleasure to know him, and have inspired all of us in the days since his passing to carry on the incredible legacy he left behind. To be the light. The inspiration. The cheerleader. To be the teacher, the mentor, the friend. In creating this award, we honor someone who has done so much for us, so his life’s work and passion can continue on for all the people he inspired and loved in his too-short time on Earth. The Be Bishop award goes to one deserving 9th grade graduate each April who has all the qualities and values that our friend Matt had, and shares them with the world just as Matt did. We hope that this award will continue to inspire all of our students to “Be Bishop”.
