Shows
Our two troupes present four fabulous large-scale musical theatre productions annually.
Children’s Theatre of Elgin (CTE) performs at the Hemmens Cultural Center with cast members in Grades 2 – 9. CTE shows are primarily based on fairy tales, children’s literature, or shortened Broadway favorites.
Fox Valley Theatre Company (FVTC) is more advanced with cast members in Grade 9 – 20 years old performing musicals at the Elgin Community College Arts Center.
Tickets for all shows are $14 for adults and $12 for children, students, and seniors. Tickets for shows held at Elgin Community College are subject to additional box office fees, which CTE does not control.

2023-2024 Season

Finding Nemo Jr.
From the beloved Disney/Pixar film right to the musical stage, this tale has found the hearts of millions of people. The musical follows Marlin, a clownfish from the Great Barrier Reef, as he embarks across the ocean to find his son Nemo. He meets lots of memorable characters along the way, including a hilariously forgetful but loveable fish named Dory, and his journey proves to him that nothing is impossible with friends to help you, and love to guide your way. The show features songs by award-wining composers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the same people behind the hit soundtrack of Frozen. Finding Nemo Jr. is a heart-warming tale of adventure, risk, trust, and the strength we all get from our friends and family.

James and the Giant Peach Jr
This adaptation of the classic novel by Roald Dahl follows the story of a boy named James as he embarks on an epic adventure in…a giant peach. James, neglected and mistreated by his aunts, is ordered to cut down the old fruit tree. Inside, he find a magical potion that creates a gigantic peach. Leaving his gloomy life behind, James sets out on the ocean inside the peach. Inside, he meets a charming and quirky group of insects, and they all go together on a journey of danger, excitement, and self-discovery. From the mind that gave the world Matilda and Willy Wonka comes this story of friendship, courage, and believing in yourself.
