ABOUT Jake Nyborg
For Jake Nyborg, theather gave him the chance to follow his passion for performing while making friendships that he will cherish for the rest of his life. A participant in Children’s Theatre of Elgin (CTE) from 2012, 2019, Jake recalls his favorite production, Mashup, where the excitement of being on stage was matched only by the strong bonds created during the show with his fellow cast members. Those friendships he made at CTE remain one of the most cherished parts of his experience.
After graduating, Jake spent the first half of 2024 in Walt Disney World. He participated in the Disney College Program where he had the opportunity to work in the Magic Kingdom as a part of the Fireworks Guest Flow Team on Main Street. Being a part of the Disney College Program was better than he could’ve imagined and he found himself making new lasting friendships and being exposed people from all walks of life.
Jake participated in 19 shows during his time with CTE. One of his favorite memories was obtaining the nickname “Woody” from his fellow cast members. He will never forget singing The Right of Fire while his cast members cheered him on with chants of “Woody.”
As he prepares for the next chapter of his journey as a Financial Analyst at Weber Grills, Jake reflects on how CTE made an impact on his life. The lessons he learned—about his passions, staying true to himself, and building strong friendships that last a lifetime—continue to inspire him as he navigates the challenges of the financial world. With a bright future ahead, Jake is excited to carry forward the values instilled in him by CTE, knowing that the friendships and memories he made will always be a part of his life story.
