ABOUT Olivia Litton

For Olivia Litton, the world of theater became a second home, offering her the chance to explore her passion for performing while forming lifelong friendships. A participant in Children’s Theatre of Elgin (CTE) from 2016, 2018, and 2021 to 2022, Olivia recalls her favorite productions, Into the Woods and Footloose, where the excitement of being on stage was matched only by the strong bonds she created with her fellow cast members. Those friendships, which have stood the test of time, remain one of the most cherished parts of her CTE experience.

Olivia has continued to pursue her love of performing by studying Musical Theatre at Carthage College. Reflecting on her time at CTE, Olivia emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself. The encouragement she received there helped shape her confidence both on and off the stage, and it’s a lesson she carries forward in her academic and professional pursuits.

Olivia’s advice to others is simple but powerful: “Keep being you! Love yourself and what you do, and the rest will follow.” This mindset has guided her through both the triumphs and challenges of her journey, and she remains grateful for the friendships, mentorships, and memories created during her time with CTE.

As she prepares for the next chapter of her journey after Carthage College, Olivia reflects on how CTE laid the foundation for her future in musical theater. The lessons she learned—about self-love, staying true to her passions, and building strong relationships—continue to inspire her as she navigates the challenges of the performing arts world. With a bright future ahead, Olivia is excited to carry forward the values instilled in her by CTE, knowing that the friendships and memories she made will always be a part of her story.
